Sunrise Family Photo Session in North Georgia

Lifestyle family photo session near me at Little Mulberry Park in Dacula, GA. Pose ideas for a family of 5

Little Mulberry Park in Dacula, Ga

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a lifestyle family photo session near me at sunrise in Dacula, GA. We chose to capture their precious moments at Little Mulberry Park. Despite this park being a popular location for photographers it is one of my favorite locations to shoot at in North Georgia and Metro Atlanta! Therefore, if choosing this location, you should consider sunrise! While sunset is just as pretty you will run into a lot more people during that time.

Little Mulberry Park offers a wide range of picturesque locations for photography. From open fields to wooded areas and serene lakes, this park provides a diverse backdrop for capturing beautiful family moments. The tall grass and gentle morning light during the sunrise session created a dreamy and enchanting atmosphere.

Little Mulberry Park is just one of the many beautiful locations found in North Georgia. Whether it’s a park like this, downtown, or a mountain view, there are options for capturing family portraits in Georgia.

Lifestyle Photography

One of my favorite styles of photography is lifestyle and documentary. During lifestyle family photo sessions I focus on capturing authentic moments and emotions, without strict posing. I still always attempt to get one smiling at the photo shot! This way, the final images truly reflect the unique dynamics and love within the family.

Styling

For this session, the family chose to wear coordinated outfits and utilized my client closet. Coordinating outfits can add a nice touch to the overall look, creating a cohesive and visually appealing result. Despite it being a sunrise session in November they were all able to stay warm by adding layers. They opted for a mixture of soft and neutral colors, which complemented the natural surroundings of the park.

Prompting over posing.

During this family photo session, I prompted this family of 5 to interact naturally and engage in activities they enjoy. This allowed me to capture genuine expressions of joy, love, and connection. The kids played, laughed, cried (IFYKYK) and explored the surroundings, while the parents embraced these precious moments. This is why I prefer prompting over posing.

Lighting

Choosing a location lighting is one of the most important factors that I consider. No matter how pretty a location is, if it doesn’t get amazing light, I will not suggest that location. As the sun rose higher in the sky, the warm golden light added a softly glowing quality to the photos. The combination of the location and the family’s natural interactions resulted in images that perfectly depicted their bond.

Closing thoughts

If you’re considering a lifestyle family photographer in North Georgia or the Atlanta area, I highly recommend exploring locations like Little Mulberry Park in Dacula, GA. Remember to choose outfits that complement each other and the environment, and let your family’s love and connection shine through. With a lifestyle and documentary approach, you can create timeless images that truly reflect the essence of your family.
